Product Description
The CD gDNA Plant Kit allows purification of genomic DNA from between 50-100 mg of fungi and plant samples, including leaves, tissues and seeds (Figure 1), to yield up to 7 µg of gDNA typically in less than 15 minutes following sample preparation and lysis. The CD gDNA Plant Kit uses magnetic beads with a unique, ionizable functional group whose affinity for nucleic acids is pH-dependent to facilitate nucleic acid purification. Genomic DNA is isolated without the use of centrifugation or organic solvents, and is of higher purity than silica-prepared DNA, which is typically contaminated with guanidine salts.
Components
CD Magnetic Beads (25 mg / mL in 10 mM MES, pH 5.0, 10 mM NaCl, 0.1% Tween 20) CD Lysis Buffer (L18) CD Precipitation Buffer (N5) CD Wash Buffer (W12) CD Elution Buffer (E6; 10 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.5 with 1 mM EDTA) RNase A (5 mg / mL in 10 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.5, 10 mM EDTA) 10% SDS in deionized water 10% Detergent (D1)
Advantage / Highlights
The CD gDNA Plant Kit uses magnetic bead-based technology to allow rapid and efficient isolation of genomic DNA from fungal and plant samples, including leaves, tissues and seeds, in less than 15 minutes after lysate preparation.
• Optimized for higher-purity DNA extraction
• Compatible with high-throughput protocols
• Ideal for a variety of downstream applications
Applications
The CD gDNA Plant Kit ensures reliable performance of the resulting gDNA and is routinely used for the most sensitive applications, including genetically modified organism (GMO) screening. Other downstream applications include PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, and Southern blotting.
Storage & Stability
All components of the CD gDNA Plant Kit are shipped at room temperature. Upon receipt, store RNase A at 4“C. Store all other kit components at room temperature.
